Stewart Loving-Gibbard
Stewart is a technology “jack of all trades” who enjoys solving unusual challenges. He excels at producing tools that allow users to visualize and interact with data in unprecedented ways.
After studying English in college, Stewart was hired as a technical support assistant at a small educational software company in 1993 and soon became head of software development. He later worked as a software engineer for various corporations and founded his own company, TenBox Technologies. While at Sorensen Associates, a market research firm in Troutdale, Oregon, Stewart led a major redesign of the company’s PathTracker software system for analyzing shopper behavior in retail store environments.
“Some of the most interesting projects I’ve worked on are things that no one had tried before,” says Stewart. “Nothing is more satisfying to me than finding a unique way to visually represent data and help people uncover information that there’s no way they would have been able to see otherwise.”
Stewart attended Northwestern University and Reed College. He and his wife live in Portland. Stewart’s hobbies include photography and building custom audio speaker cabinets.
