Before moving to Portland, Brian was living in a remote cabin with his black lab, Rex, in a forest outside of Boulder, Colorado. A nomad at heart, his story started in New Orleans where he resided until Hurricane Katrina. Following Katrina, he relocated to Santa Fe before moving on to Atlanta to attend Georgia State University. At Georgia State, his studies focused on pre-medicine and neuroscience with the plan to go on to medical school. He ended up deciding to combine his medical studies with his passion for Information Technology and focus on Healthcare IT.
This decision led him to Colorado where he spent over four years working as a Technical Support Engineer for VMware. Ready for a new adventure, he packed up and moved west to Portland and his new job at Sitka. While his role doesn’t have a healthcare angle, he is pleased that it still allows him to use his technical skills for greater good.
With each new home, Brian tends to pick up a new interest or hobby. He started playing ice hockey while living in New Mexico, skiing and snowboarding while in Georgia, and rock-climbing/bouldering in Colorado. We look forward to learning what new hobby Oregon will unveil.
