Sitka’s Water Accounting platform was recently announced, and we couldn’t be more excited to share it with the world. It was through close collaboration with our partners Olsson and WestWater Research that we were able to develop an open-source water accounting and trading platform for the Rosedale-Rio Bravo Water Storage District in California and the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF).
EDF and WestWater Research co-hosted a webinar on October 28th to showcase the water accounting platform. During the webcast, our partners walked through the platform in great detail and explained the challenges Californian water districts are currently facing in developing sustainable groundwater-use practices.
The work we, alongside the aforementioned organizations, have put into this platform sets the standard for how groundwater usage and water rights monitoring can be streamlined both in California and beyond.

The platform enables users to track, use, and trade their water supplies in accordance with California’s Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA). It’s more important than ever to consider how sustainable your local groundwater usage is. This webinar is loaded with pertinent information, you won’t want to miss out.
For interested parties, we are more than happy to facilitate personalized demos of the platform. To schedule a one-on-one walkthrough, please complete this short form, and we will follow up with you to schedule it.
