Environmental Incentives are a group of thought leaders who are pioneering a new wave of conservation. They design performance-driven approaches to conservation by aligning community and economic development objectives to strengthen water, land, and wildlife resources.
Sitka has the technology infrastructure and data visualization expertise necessary to scale conservation programs and maximize impact. Combined with our expertise in program design and adaptive management, we are able to define and transform performance information into actionable data that inspires action around community and environmental goals.

The performance platform is all things Lake Tahoe Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL). It is easy for us to manage content and report performance. It is the one stop shop for our program.
Bob Larson | Senior Environmental Scientist, Lahontan Regional Board
Environmental Incentives' policy and design expertise coupled with our technology and data management know-how has positively impacted numerous conservation and mitigation programs across the United States. And as an added benefit, we just really dig working together.

The Environmental Improvement Program has delivered significant benefits for the environment and recreation at Lake Tahoe. The Project Tracker is a powerful new website that improves transparency and accountability and allows us to better showcase the great work being done.

The Puget Sound Partnership works with hundreds of agencies to accelerate and advance their collective restoration efforts. To address the information management issues the Partnership was facing, Sitka Technology Group and Environmental Incentives conducted an in-depth assessment to find an optimal path for meeting current and future needs.
In May, we conducted our project kick-off with Puget Sound Partnership at their office in Tacoma. From the DataDiagnostic findings, we are finalizing the strategic data management plan, and Environmental Incentives is working with the Partnership in overhauling their set of performance measures.
Nevada is the first state in the nation to launch an online Conservation Credit System which provides private landowners and public land managers incentives to preserve, enhance, and restore greater sage-grouse habitat. This system provides a statewide market that allows developers (e.g. mining and energy companies) to offset their impact on sage-grouse by purchasing credits from private landowners who have land that qualifies as a safe habitat for the endangered birds. The first credit transaction on the system occurred November 9th.
