Rosedale-Rio Bravo Water Accounting and Trading Platform
A pilot project advancing sustainable groundwater management
Formed in 1959 by landowners, Rosedale-Rio Bravo Water Storage District encompasses approximately 44,000 acres of land with over half being irrigated agriculture. Nearly all of the district's water supplies are recharged into the groundwater aquifer. By replenishing the aquifer, the region is able to keep water levels high and keep pumping costs low.
The Water Accounting Platform Sitka co-developed with the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) and the Rosedale-Rio Bravo Water Storage District with support from Olsson, OpenET, and WestWater Research, is at the core of an important effort in California to aid sustainable groundwater management.
We’re pleased to announce the third Water Accounting & Trading Platform workshop will be held Thursday, 3/18/2021 @ 12pm Pacific. This workshop, like the first, is open to all, and I’m hoping you will join us!
The first in a series of workshops on the Water Accounting platform will be held Wednesday, December 16th from 10am to 12pm Pacific. The session's goal is to familiarize attendees on how the platform functions and provide a cohesive overview of its accounting, trading, and scenario planning features.
